The lace-like effect is created with pulled thread embroidery resulting from the fabric threads being distorted by the tightly pulled working thread. As pulled thread embroidery involves no cutting it does not weaken the fabric in any way. This technique is particularly useful for decorating household linens.

Each sampler cushion  features the same layout for a cohesive look, and EIGHT pulled thread fillings (each cushion has different filling stitches) - 24 different filling stitches in total.
