Danish Pulled Thread Sampler Cushion #2

A great way to showcase this traditional technique. The lace-like effect is created with pulled thread embroidery resulting from the fabric threads being distorted by the tightly pulled working thread. As pulled thread embroidery involves no cutting it does not weaken the fabric in any way. This technique is particularly useful for decorating household linens.

Sampler Cushion #2 features the same layout as Cushions #1 and #3 for a cohesive look: a border of Italian Four-Sided Stitch and tile outlines of Satin Stitch and EIGHT pulled thread fillings, such as Basket Weave variations, Chequer Stitch, Double Backstitch, and Circular Ground.

Included are comprehensive stitch diagrams for the pulled thread stitches, with layout and construction instructions. A tips section has been included to provide guidance on getting the best finish to your stitching.
