Schwlam - Mein Liebling

Mein Liebling (My Love) is a romantic application of the modern Schwalm embroidery style that incorporates surface embroidery with ‘re-inforced’ cutwork design areas, producing a strong and resilient decorative lacework for household linens.

This design incorporates traditional motifs such as the tulip, heart and floral figures and highlights them with examples of the three types of Schwalm cut-work. 

The example is worked in romantic rosy-pink, but traditionally would have been worked in white or ecru on white.  The use of tone-on-tone colours brings attention to the wonderful textures this technique achieves.
